A running board, also sometimes called a nerf bar, footboard, or simply truck steps, is typically not a factory feature but rather a custom feature added after the fact. A running board is both fashionable and practical and looks like a narrow step. Running boards are typically made of chrome or fiberglass. Many vintage cars feature running boards and many custom trucks and SUVs feature running boards that are not only installed as part of a custom look, but also as a step for easier entrance and exit. Though a running board serves no practical purpose on a car, it is not uncommon for a customized car to have running boards. The addition of a running board can be accomplished by either the vehicle owner or at a body shop that customizes cars. A running board may be classified as a truck or vehicle accessory or body part. Full-size trucks are often seen with chrome running boards, but on a car with a custom paint job, the running boards are usually fiberglass and painted to match. On cars, especially low riders, a running board is merely a fashionable customization. In addition to the various designs and finishes, a running board may even be lighted.

I was so excited for when my daughter came back home from her summer of studying abroad in Paris through her college. I know she was having a grand time and several of her friends went with her but that didn’t keep me from worrying nonstop.

I’m not too fond of cooking but when she came home we had a party for her, our family and her friends I wanted to bring a little bit of Paris here so I found some recipes on wildblue satellite that were typical French things but still seemed like I might be able to handle them.

I’m sure that she was expecting to eat some American food but I thought this was such a great idea that I couldn’t resist. (I also cheated and made some French fries and picked up some premade croissants from a bakery.)

My son made a little chain of Eiffel Towers and hung them up in our dining room for the occassion and my daughter loved it. I was so happy to have her home and I think she was glad to be back too.
